Khon Kaen (Thai: ขอนแก่น, [kʰɔ̌(ː)n kɛ̀n]) is the fifth-largest of the north-eastern provinces (changwat) of Thailand. Neighboring provinces are (from north clockwise) Nongbua Lamphu, Udon Thani, Kalasin, Maha Sarakham, Buriram, Nakhon Ratchasima, Chaiyaphum, Phetchabun and Loei.

Khon Kaen AirportKhon Kaen Airport (Thai: (IATA: KKC, ICAO: VTUK)) is in Khon Kaen, Thailand. Serving Khon Kaen, a city strategically important for the region's infrastructure both geographically and economically, the airport was upgraded to international standards in 2005 with the opening of a new terminal. It is a few kilometres west of downtown. It takes at least 20 minutes to Khon Kaen city centre, and approximately 2 hours to nearby provinces such as Maha Sarakham, Kalasin and Udonthani.Show on map
