The Municipality of Šentilj (Slovene: Občina Šentilj) is a municipality in Slovenia. The seat of the municipality is the town of Šentilj v Slovenskih Goricah (German: St. Egidi in Windischbüheln). This town was an Austria-Slovenia border crossing checkpoint until December 21, 2007, when all immigration and customs checks ended after Slovenia joined the Schengen Area. The Austrian town opposite Šentilj is Spielfeld.

Šentilj v Slovenskih goricahŠentilj v Slovenskih Goricah (pronounced [ʃɛnˈtiːl ʍ slɔˈʋeːnskiɣ ɡɔˈɾiːtsax] or [ʃənˈtiːl ʍ slɔˈʋeːnskiɣ ɡɔˈɾiːtsax]; Slovene: Šentilj v Slovenskih goricah) is a town and the administrative centre of the Municipality of Šentilj in northeastern Slovenia. The parish church, from which the settlement also gets its name, is dedicated to Saint Giles. It was first mentioned in written documents dating to 1329. In 1532 it was looted by Ottoman Turks. Zgornja VelkaZgornja Velka (pronounced [ˈzɡoːɾnja ˈʋeːlka]) is a dispersed settlement in the Slovene Hills (Slovene: Slovenske gorice) southeast of Sladki Vrh in the Municipality of Šentilj in northeastern Slovenia. The parish church, built on a hill in the southern part of the settlement, is dedicated to Our Lady of the Snows and belongs to the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Maribor. TrateTrate (pronounced [ˈtɾaːtɛ]) is a settlement in the Slovene Hills (Slovene: Slovenske gorice) in the Municipality of Šentilj in northeastern Slovenia. Cmurek Castle is an originally 12th-century castle built on a hill above the Mura River in the northern part of the settlement.
