It is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola and is now included in the Southeast Slovenia Statistical Region. It is the largest settlement and the centre of the Municipality of Osilnica

Spodnji ČačičSpodnji Čačič (pronounced [ˈspoːdnji ˈtʃaːtʃitʃ]; German: is a small settlement in the Municipality of Osilnica in southern Slovenia. The area is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola and is now included in the Southeast Slovenia Statistical Region. The local church in the settlement is dedicated to Saint Nicholas and belongs to the Parish of Osilnica. It was first mentioned in documents dating to 1526.
