Komen ([ˈkoːmən]) is a settlement in Slovenia. It is the seat of the Municipality of Komen. It is located on the Karst Plateau in the Slovenian Littoral.

KodretiKodreti (pronounced [kɔˈdɾeːti]) is a small village southwest of Štanjel in the Municipality of Komen in the Littoral region of Slovenia next to the border with Italy. The parish church in the settlement serves all the surrounding villages of Koboli, Večkoti, Čehovini, Dolanci, and Trebižani, and is known as the Parish of Branica. It is dedicated to Saint Catherine and belongs to the Diocese of Koper. Originally the church stood on Lukovnik Hill above the village. It was dedicated in 1518. It was abandoned and demolished after the religious reforms of Joseph II were put into effect. A second church was built in Dolanci in 1805, but was also later abandoned; according to local tradition, a fight that led to bloodshed inside the church had desecrated the site. GorjanskoGorjansko (pronounced is a village in the southwestern part of the Municipality of Komen in the Littoral region of Slovenia on the border with Italy. The parish church in the settlement is dedicated to Saint Andrew and belongs to the Diocese of Koper. It was built in 1896 on top of the ruins of a smaller Gothic church and was renovated in the late 1950s when its interior was painted by Tone Kralj. Close to the settlement is also a large cemetery of over 10,000 Austro-Hungarian soldiers of various nationalities that died on the Isonzo front in the First World War. ŠtanjelŠtanjel (pronounced [ˈʃtaːnjɛu̯]; Italian: San Daniele del Carso) is a village in the Municipality of Komen in the Littoral region of Slovenia. It is located on the Karst Plateau overlooking the Vipava Valley. In the 17th century it was fortified to defend it against Ottoman raids.
