Basic information about Brda
Brda ([ˈbəɾda]) is a settlement in the City Municipality of Slovenj Gradec in northern Slovenia. The area was traditionally part of Styria. The entire municipality is now included in the Carinthia Statistical Region. Two churches in the settlement are dedicated to Saint Andrew and Mary Magdalene and belong to the Parish of Šmartno pri Slovenj Gradcu. The former dates to the late 15th century and the latter was built in the 16th century on the site of a Romanesque building.

DobrovoDobrovo (pronounced [ˈdoːbɾɔʋɔ]; Italian: Castel Dobra) is a settlement the Littoral region of Slovenia, close to the border with Italy. It is the administrative centre of the Municipality of Brda. It lies on the road that connects the Friuli Plain and the Soča Valley. Dobrovo Castle is a castle in the settlement built around 1600 on the foundations of an older structure. It is an almost perfect square in plan with square turrets on each corner. MedanaMedana (pronounced [mɛˈdaːna]) is a village in the Municipality of Brda in the Slovenian Littoral region of Slovenia. It is located in the Gorizia Hills (Slovene: Goriška brda), a wine-producing region on the border with Italy. The parish church in the village is dedicated to the Assumption of Mary and belongs to the Diocese of Koper.
