Districts of Republican Subordination (Tajik: Ноҳияҳои тобеи ҷумҳурӣ, Nohiyahoi tobei jumhurī; Persian: ناحیه های تابع جمهوری; Russian: Районы республиканского подчинения, Rayonî respublikanskogo podchineniya) is a region in Tajikistan, consisting of 13 districts which are directly under central rule.

TavildaraTavildara is a town in Tavildara district, Region of Republican Subordination, Tajikistan. It is also the district capital. Tavildara is one of the highest areas in central-eastern Tajikistan, surrounded by the Rasht Valley in the north, the Darvaz mountains in the south and the highest Pamir peaks in the east. Many prominent scientists proved that the original Tajiks lived in this area, especially in the eastern isolated areas of Tavildara district called Vakhio. This territory is also the site of many sacred places, such as Hazrati Burkhi Vali Mausoleum and others. One of the most powerful mountainous rivers of the country, Obi Khingob (Khingov), which is a tributary of the Vakhsh river that is one of the main tributaries for Amu Darya, forms there. HisorHisor (Tajik: Ҳисор, Persian: حصار‎‎) is a city in western Tajikistan, about 15 km west of Dushanbe. It is the capital of Hisor District, one of the Districts of Republican Subordination. It lies at an altitude of 799–824 m, surrounded by high mountains (Gissar Range to the north, Babatag and Aktau ranges to the south). The Khanaka River, a tributary to the Kofarnihon River, flows through the town. As of 2002, it had a population of 22,961, composed 81.6% of Tajiks, 12.3% Uzbeks, 3.6% Russians, and 2.5% others. It was once an independent Khanate, and then the winter residence of the governor of East Bukhara. The large fort is said to date back to Cyrus the Great and to have been captured twenty one times. TursunzodaTursunzoda (Tajik: also Tursunzade from Russian spelling) is a city in western Tajikistan, known for its aluminium smelting plant TadAZ. It is located 60 km west of Dushanbe (40 km west of Hisor), near the border with Uzbekistan. It is near several rivers, Shirkent and Karatag immediately to the west and east of the city, and Kofarnihon further east. Its population was given as 40,600 in the 1989 census, falling to 39,000 in 2000, and estimated at 37,000 in 2006. Tursunzoda is home to football club Regar-TadAZ Tursunzoda. VahdatVahdat (also Vakhdat, meaning unity in Persian) is a city in western Tajikistan, just 10 km east of Dushanbe. In the last century the city has been renamed several times. The city was known as Yangi-Bazar until 1936, when it was renamed Ordzhonikidzeabad in honor of Georgian communist Grigoriy Ordzhonikidze. From the 1920s until 1955 there was a Gharm Oblast in Tajikistan, which included the territory of the current Gharm Valley. Gharm is also the former name of the Rasht District in central Tajikistan. TavildaraTavildara is a town in Tavildara district, Region of Republican Subordination, Tajikistan. It is also the district capital. Vahdat DistrictVahdat District (also spelled Vakhdat, Tajik: Ноҳияи Ваҳдат; Persian: ناحیۀ وحدت‎‎) is one of the larger districts of the Districts of Republican Subordination in Tajikistan, called Kofarnihon District until the introduction of a new administrative division in the end of 2003. During the Soviet period it was named Ordzhonikidzeabad district in honor of Georgian communist Grigoriy Ordzhonikidze. It extends east of Dushanbe along the southern slopes of the Gissar Range, bordering on Varzob District from the west and Rasht District from the east. Its long southern border runs (from west to east) along Khatlon Province and then Faizobod, Roghun, and Nurobod districts. Tursunzoda DistrictTursunzoda District (Tajik: Persian: is the westernmost district of the Districts of Republican Subordination (RRP), bordering on Uzbekistan in the west and enclosed by Tajikistan's Shahrinaw District from the other directions. Its capital is Tursunzoda, called Regar, or \"a town on sand\", until 1978. Thanks to its warm weather and plentiful irrigation from the local rivers (Shirkent, Karatag, Kofarnihon), Tursunzoda district is a major grower of rice and cotton in Tajikistan. In 2006 it produced 1,400 tons of rice (13% of Tajikistan's rice harvest) and 7,300 tons of cotton (3% of Tajikistan's cotton harvest). The Shahrinaw District borders on Tursunzoda District in the west, Hisor District in the east, and Rudaki District in the south. Varzob DistrictVarzob District or Nohiyai Varzob (Tajik: Ноҳияи Варзоб Nohiya‘i Varzob/Nohijaji Varzoв; Persian: ناحیۀ ورزاب‎‎ Nâhiyeye Varzâb) is a district in the Region of Republican Subordination in Tajikistan, lying north of Dushanbe. It borders on Hisor District from the west, Rudaki District from the south, and Vahdat District from the east. The Gissar Range runs along its northern edge.
