Basic information about Kosicky
The Košice Region (Slovak: Košický kraj, Hungarian: Kassai kerület; Ukrainian: Кошицький край) is one of the eight Slovak administrative regions. The region was first established in 1923 and its present borders were established in 1996. It consists of 11 districts (okresy) and 440 municipalities, 17 of which have a town status. About one third of the region's population lives in the agglomeration of Košice, which is its main economic and cultural centre.

ŠacaŠaca (Hungarian: Saca) is a borough of Košice, Slovakia. The first written record about Šaca dates back to 1275. Since 1427 the landowners of Šaca were the family of Semsey which built a castle here in the 15th century, however, it was pulled down on the order of the King Matthias Corvinus. The village has the lowest altitude (94 m above sea level) in Slovakia. The village is an important archeological site (findings from the Mesolithic, Neolithic, Eneolithic, Bronze Age, grave-mounds from the late 1st century BC, Slavic finds from the 7th and 8th century, early Magyar graves). Pavlovce nad UhomPavlovce nad Uhom (Romani: Pavlovcis, Hungarian: Pálócz) is a village and municipality in the Slovakian district of Michalovce, which lies in the Eastern Slovak Kosice Region. Roughly 19 kilometers southeast of the town of Michalovce, Pavlovce sits, as its name indicates, on the south bank of the Uzh River (Slovak: Uh), about eight kilometers west of the border with Ukraine. The population of the village was 4.439 at the time of the 2010 census. The first written mention about the locality is dated back to 1255 - Poproč is mentioned in the document of the King Béla IV as the royal mining settlement Olchuan. In the year 2005, Poproč celebrated the 750th anniversary of the first written mention about the village. Okres Spišská Nová VesSpišská Nová Ves (; German: (Zipser) Neu(en)dorf; Hungarian: Igló; Polish: Nowa Wieś Spiska; is a town in the Košice Region of Slovakia. The town is located southeast of the High Tatras in the Spiš region, and lies on both banks of the Hornád River. It is the biggest town of the Spišská Nová Ves District (okres). As of 2006 the population was 38,357. Tourist attractions nearby include the medieval town of Levoča, Spiš Castle and the Slovak Paradise National Park. Jeskyně DomicaDomica is the biggest cave in the Slovak Karst in southern Slovakia, Rožňava District. It is a part of the cave complex that continues into the cave Baradla (Aggtelek) in Hungary. It was discovered in 1926 by Ján Majko. Since 1932, 1,600 metres (5,200 ft) of the 5,140 metres (16,860 ft) are open to public. Údolná Nádrž Zemplínska ŠíravaZemplínska šírava (sometimes called the \"Slovak sea\" (Slovak: Slovenské more)). is a dam and lake in eastern Slovakia, near the town of Michalovce, wholly belonging to the Michalovce District. The name recalls the historical Zemplín region. The dam was built in 1961–1965, covers an area of 33 km2 (13 sq mi), has an average depth of 9.5 m (31 ft), with a maximum depth of 14 m (46 ft). Water from the dam flows into the Laborec river, which in turn flows into the Bodrog river. The area is primarily used for recreation. OndavaThe Ondava is a 146.5 km long river in Slovakia, the northern source river of the Bodrog. Its source is in the Low Beskids (Eastern Carpathian Mountains), near the village Nižná Polianka, close to the border with Poland.
